A datacenter rack runs cool because the cold side stays cold. The moment you cut a hole in the front panel of a rack to pass cables through, you've also opened a path for chilled air to escape into the hot aisle, and your cooling bill goes up. A brush panel closes that gap.

What it does

Dense nylon bristles let your patch cables and patch cords pass through the panel cleanly, but everything else stays sealed. Chilled supply air stops short-circuiting into the hot aisle, the CRAC units do less work, and your power-usage-effectiveness number moves in the right direction. JBX18071 is a 19-inch one-rack-unit panel with a metal frame and a dense black brush, and it drops into any standard rack using the cage nuts you already have.

Why it matters

  • Airflow integrity. Even a few square inches of bypass air in the front panel measurably drops your hot-aisle / cold-aisle separation. A brush panel closes the gap without restricting cable runs.
  • Drop-in install. 1U metal frame, standard cage-nut mounting, no custom hardware. Works the same on a four-post deep rack and a wallmount enclosure.
  • Looks deliberate. A row of clean horizontal lines, all 1U tall, all running the same direction, makes the entire rack read as planned, not improvised. Buyers who care about cooling tend to also care about how the rack reads in a customer tour.
